79 Series Landcruiser Tourer Build
To get this pre-registration 79 Series GXL Landcruiser Cape York ready the Towing Performance Centre has made a variety of modifications. From a GVM change to electrical, storage & protection, we will go through the modifications made to get this Landcruiser Cape York ready.
79 Series Landcruiser Bar Work
Up front and centre is the black ARB Bullbar with a set of STEDI Type X Pro Spotlights and a 12,000LB Carbon Winch to get out of trouble when traversing the harsh conditions the cape has to throw at it. A Hayman Reese X-Bar was also installed to handle off road towing whilst improving departure angles.
79 Series Off-Road Tyres & Exhaust
The original Dunlop tyres have been replaced with a set of Yokohama Geolander X-AT Tyres, giving this Cruiser a meaner off-road look and improving much needed traction.
Exhaust has been upgraded to a stainless steel 3.5" Torqit 4WD Performance Exhaust, designed for long distance driving and superior strength & rust resistance.
Towing & GVM Modifications For 79 Series Landcruiser
Load capacity was an important factor with this build, so the team has fit a JMACX 4200kg GVM Upgrade prior to registration. Upgrading pre-registration has the benefit of increasing GVM without affecting the towing capacity.
The additional GVM has allowed for additional load and more accessories without having to compromise on performance or handling.
With the long drive to the Cape ahead, a Brown Davis Long Range Fuel Tank is housed under the tray, improving the maximum fuel capacity without affecting the ground clearance.
79 Series Additional Tourer Modifications
Other modifications made to the 79 Series Landcruiser to get it ready for it's debut touring trip to the Cape include:
A GME UHF CB Radio for remote communications
Direction Plus Pre-Filter to help protect against poor performance and potential costly repairs.
