Cruisemaster 200 Series Off-Road Tourer Build
The Towing Performance Centre have been tasked with upgrading Cruisemasters new 200 Series Toyota Landcruiser. With the goal of building the ultimate tourer to put the Cruisemaster gear to the test in the 2021 R.A.T Run up to Cape York.
200 Series Landcruiser Bar Work
Arguably one of the best looking 200 Series Bull Bars available, the Off Road Animal Toro Bullbar was fitted to improve the approach angle and mount the necessary accessories. The new bull bar houses a 12,000LB Carbon Winch to get through sticky situations and a STEDI pro 28.2" front light bar.
Other bar work changes for the build include a Kaymar Rear Bar, TJM side steps and KAON underbody guards for improved protection from harsh tracks.
Engine Performance Upgrades For 200 Series
To provide the extra 'oomph' needed for our rigorous R.A.T Run testing through Cape York the mighty V8 Landcruiser motor & transmission has been tuned using Flash Diesel.
With the hot conditions of the outback in mind PWR Intercooler Thermo Fans have been installed alongside a Direction-Plus preline filter & ProVent catch can to protect against potential costly repairs and poor performance.
Electrical hasn't been left out with new Redarc BCDC ignition switching and switch-pros switch systems in place. The original battery has also been upgraded with a MEGA-Life Lithium starter battery for weight reduction, its reserve cell and IBMS (Integrated Battery Management System) for one touch emergency starting.
Interior Upgrades For 200 Series Tourer
Inside the cabin has been modified with comfort and practicality in mind from dash to boot. This Cruiser has been kitted out with everything you'll need for remote navigations and communication with a Advanced Ice Navigation system, GME UHF and a Kenwood CarPlay Head Unit.
To monitor what's going on under the hood a ScanGuage II has been fitted, which provides real time updates of the vehicles operating conditions.
A custom rear false floor has been produced to integrate the electrical control system and has done a great job to tidy up the installation of the Invicta 100AH lithium secondary battery, Redarc 350W Inverter & ARB twin compressor.
To keep everything secure when traversing on and off-road a Kaon Cargo Barrier with roof shelf was installed as well as a MSA Fridge Slide.
Lastly, SupaFit Black Denim Seat Covers designed to suit the 200 Series seats have been used to provide extra comfort and protect the seats from wear & tear.
Towing & GVM Modifications For 200 Series Landcruiser
A JMACX 4200kg GVM Upgrade kit was fitted to increase the payload of the Cruiser. Kings shocks and coils (front & rear) have also been installed along with a High Pressure Air Suspension Helper Kit for coil springs from Airbag man.
To keep in line with regulations and assist with vision, MSA Towing Mirrors are used to extend the drivers view past the trailer being towed whilst remaining practical for everyday driving.
200 Series Additional Tourer Modifications
Other modifications made the the 200 Series to get it ready for touring and the remote area testing series include, but are not limited to:
The stock exhaust replaced with a Legendex DPF back exhaust to take its place.
A Rola MkII platform with Rola Ridge Mount mounting system to house a Sunseeker Awning and a additional STEDI pro 39" Roof Light bar.
ROH Octagon Wheels and Kenda Klever tyres to give the cruiser a meaner look and provide better traction off road.
A Safari Airmax Snorkel
How did it perform?
